Gemäss MetOffice werden die Temperaturen vor allem für den NW Europas so wie Teile des Mittelmeers etwas über Normal ausfallen.
Für das übrige Europa meist moderate mit aber auch hier eher der Trend Richtung "Überdurchschnitt" als "Unterdurchschnitt".

The forecast probabilities are calculated by combining results from the North Atlantic Oscillation prediction method, guidance from global seasonal models and assessment of climate warming trends.

Forecast probability that temperatures taken over the winter period (December 2007 to February 2008) will be above/below 1971-2000 averages.

In most parts of Europe above-normal winter temperatures are forecast more likely than below-normal temperatures. In northwest Europe and parts of the Mediterranean the odds for warmer-than-normal versus colder-than-normal are at least 60 to 40. Elsewhere, including parts of eastern and southern Europe, the odds are more evenly balanced, but still mainly favouring warmer than normal.
